DIY- Easy toner for oily and pimple prone skin

Hi lovelies,

Today I'm going to share a very easy and effective DIY for oily and pimple prone skin. This is one of the best things I know. This toner is a result of various experiments I have done to get rid of acne and the marks it leaves.

OK.. Now going straight into the DIY.

Ingredients:

1) Neem leaves
2) Holy Basil leaves(Tulsi)
3)One Green Tea bag
4)One evion 400(Vit E capsule)
5)Pinch of baking soda
6)two pieces from an aloe Vera stem
7)Juice of half lemon
8)Half a tea spoon Cumin seeds( You read it correct)
9)Bit of Rosewater
10) An essential oil of your choice( I am adding Lavender Oil for it's skin lightening properties)

Method to prepare the toner:

1) Take some water in a vessel and boil it.
2) Now take a green tea bag and dip it in the boiled water to make a decoction.

Like so,

3) After the decoction is prepared, add the neem leaves, cumin seeds and the holy basil leaves to it and boil.

Like so,

4) After the mixture's fully boiled. Switch the stove off and let it cool down.

5) Now take a spray bottle add rose water, extract from the evion capsule(you could add glycerin if you have dry skin/ add camphor if you want a cooling sensation as soon as you apply it), Lemon juice, aloe vera gel and few drops of essential oil and mix it well.

Like so,

6)Now strain the cooled decoction and pour it into the spray bottle and give it a nice shake.

finally it would look like this,

Tadaaa.. You magic potion/toner is fully ready.

I have added AloeVera gel as it is, that why you can see it in the bottle. If want, you could grind and add it.

Note: Make sure you use this toner only during Night time as lemon can make your skin photo sensitive. During day time apply sunscreen to your face(Must ! ! !).

You could 2-3 aspirin tablets to the toner. This makes skin super duper soft and supple. It also takes care of your pores.

If your skin is sensitive you can skip baking soda and lemon.

Reason for adding cumin seeds: It is a good antiseptic, really helpful in reducing acne.

You could make small batches of this and use for 7-10 days. As we have added Vitamin E and Citric acid to this toner they help the skin and also act as preservatives.

This toner has all good things for your skin. Make it and enjoy the benefits. Please let me know how it worked for you in the comments. See you again..

How to keep your feet beautiful..

Have you seen that Krack cream ad where a girl teases her bhabhi for her cracked feet?? The bhabhi then uses the wonder Krack cream like taaaaaadaa and her feet become soft and beautiful. Have you cursed your feet for not being beautiful? Did a particular Sandal which you really liked did not suit your tanned feet?? You think neons or any such nail colors do not suit you?

Forget the above, are you just confused about taking good care of your feet for them to look good?? Here are some useful tips which when followed give you those amazing results.

1) Don't ever expose your feet to over moisture. Moisture always tens to cause infections near your nails and also on the skin.

2) Always make sure that your feet have enough moisture. Na kam, na zyaada. If your feet are really dry, during winter nights just apply some moisturizing cream, let it be for some time and then while going to bed wear socks to lock moisture.

3) Do yourself a pedicure or get it done professionally atleast once a month. Manicure involves a lot of things that would remove all the bad and keep the good.

4) Apply sunscreen on you feet as well while you shop in hot sun. Never step out of your house without a sunscreen.

5) Carefully select the nail colors which are delicate and girly, trust me these are real eye turners.

6) Soak your legs in warm water or a foot spa and then with the help of a pumice stone remove all the dead skin on your feet. This makes a lot of difference.

Note: To the warm water in the above tip you could add a pedicure shampoo to clean the feet completely

7) You could soak your feet in warm water and pour 5-6 drops of any essentials oil to remove all the bad odors and also to make your feet fresh. I personally like to add lemon essential oil. Jojoba oil  balances moisture, doesn't impart any fragrance though.

8) Eat fresh vegetables and fruits for your skin to glow naturally from inside.

9) Cut your nails regularly and properly to make sure you don't have ingrown nails.

10) Remove cuticles from your nails regularly.

11) Always remove the hair grown on toes. This makes them look girly and neat.

12) Wear new foot wear with socks for the first few days.

13) Scrub you legs every week.

Follow these simple tips and you will get the desired results. Great feet complete you.. !!!

The basic facial skin care routine

Hello everyone,

This post is dedicated to all you beautiful girls who've just begun to take care of their skin. Until last year, I was not so conscious about my skin and it's well being. It is after seeing people and reading many blogs that I understood my skin won't stay young forever. It will age one day. If I start taking care of my skin from now I can age gracefully, also look charming now, while I'm still young.

So for all of you to have that natural glow on your face you just need to dedicate 5-10 minutes morning and night for yourself. Not all are blessed with a great skin. Ofcourse our skin tones uneven, we are acne prone, sunburnt, we have dark spots what not. But trust me, a religious routine does take of all these and gives you great skin. This routine is followed by everyone including film stars. so here we go. 3 simple letters for "beautiful you- today, tomorrow". It's called as the "C-T-M" routine aka Cleansing-Toning-Moisturising Routine.

The first step is to Cleanse:

Cleansing your face removes all dirt and makeup which gets stuck onto you. With so much pollution in cities these days, we can hardly protect ourselves from dust and pollution. A body soap is never advised to be used on face. You could use a good pocket friendly face wash designed for your skin type. If you are a makeup girl, use a good cleansing milk(or any baby oil for that matter) to remove all traces of makeup and then cleanse your face.Besan flour mixed with haldi and milk(lemon for oily skin) acts as one of the best cleansers. Even Ashwarya Rai Bachchan says that she cannot do without besan, such are the benefits of besan(gramflour). Never over cleanse your face that it loses it's naturals oils. Keep it to twice or thrice a day depending on your coming in and going out of your house.

Second step Toning:

Toning is the process of applying a toner to your face. I know many girls who would't want to spend on a toner just because they do not know it uses. Toner is the miracle product which removes any traces of dirt, also minimizes pore size on you face and acts as a hydrating agent for the face. It also helps in restoring the natural PH balance of the skin. A regular cucumber juice can also act as an excellent toner, but it is best if dry skinned beauties try out cucumber water as it makes skin a bit oily for already oily skinned ladies. You can tone after every cleanse.

Third and the final step Moisturizing:

All of us moisturize our skin, don't we? A good moisturizer helps in maintaining the moisture balance of the skin and also makes it radiant and glowing. It also creates a layer between your facial skin and the outer atmosphere to protect you from dust. Never over do moisturizing. Keep it to twice a day and give a gap so that your skin can breathe(which is also very essential). Aloevera is an excellent moisturizer, it can handle any skin related issues so so well.

Other important parts of a healthy skin care regimen:

1)Sunscreen:If your moisturizer itself contains SPF. It's great else you will have to top it up with a sunscreen. For Indian climate SPF30 and 30+ are advised to be the best.

Did you know?? : Mere tube-light can also cause damage to your skin which can be avoided if you use a good sunscreen. How many times have you looked at yourself in the mirror and cursed at you dark spots which never seem to vanish?? I have done that almost everyday. Just try sunscreen for about a month and then see the results. You'd be surprised and happy to find your face glowing and dark spots vanishing.

2) Scrub:

While excessive scrubbing can be too much for your skin to tolerate scrubbing twice a week with a mild scrub(which does not contain abrasive granules) is always great. It helps in removing the dead skin cells and also a few blackheads(although blackheads need special attention). You could use a strawberry as a scrub and it does it's job extremely well.

For the guys- Scrubbing twice a month won't do any harm as your face definitely looks better( the patau tip :P).

3) Face pack/mask:

If your complexion has become dull or lifeless revive it with the help of a face pack/mask. Remember to use only something that perfectly suits your skin.

OK, that's it for today. See you all tomorrow with another post. Until then stay beautiful.. Tadaaa..

Sindhura- Bio pigmentation and pimple serum review

I have just started started this beauty blog out of my passion to look good and hope it reaches all people who are not sure of what to select for maintaining their skin.

This review is of my Begum Bazar find :P
The pushy SA did not leave me until I bought it. Never mind, I don't repent for buying it. It looks something like this:

ingredients:

How much? : 125 INR.

Description: Bio Pigmentation and pimple serum is special blend of herbsthat controls excess oil secretion and makes your skin oil free. It reduces pigmentation and pimples. It is enriched with tulsi, aloevera, cucumber which refresh and cool your skin, and nourish the skin, to keep it healthy and radiant. Stimulates the skin surface to tighten the pores.

OK now for the review. I was really really skeptical to use it on my sensitive skin but then my cousin was really eager to try it on her. So I experimented it on her for few days and then used it. The consistency of the serum is something like this:

I did see good changes in my cousin's skin that I used it on my face. It does instantly reduce the size of the acne(which always keeps saying hello to me while I'm busy with other things in my life). I usually apply it during night time and morning tingggggggg my zit is reduced in size. After using it for 2-3 days the pimple vanishes without leaving any marks. Isn't that cool??

summing it up:

Yays:

1) It is very light and non greasy.
2) It does work.
3) Not pricey at all.

Nays:

1)Not from a well known brand.
2) Doesn't effect existing pimple marks.

Rating: Umm umm.. 3.5/5

Magic Fruit Extract Range- Papaya Facial (Mini) Kit Review

Magic Fruit Extract Range- Papaya Facial (Mini) Kit Review

Hello Lovlies,
This review was promised a long time ago. It is a facial kit from Magic Fruit Extract Range from Nature’s essence. Nature’s essence is the same company which produces skin care range (under the same name) and makeup range (Coloressence).
I bought this kit after hearing so many good reviews from my cousins and friends. I just wanted to make sure that this suits my skin; hence I picked a mini kit.

Where did I buy? : I bought it from a local beauty store. You will easily find it in several e-commerce sites as well.
How much? : 150 INR.
Description: Treatment Kit for Blemishes and Pigmentation.
Ingredients:
I have an acne prone skin and somehow manage to get rid of my pimples but the marks they leave never seem to be fading. I have tried almost everything that claims to treat the blemishes but to my disappointment nothing worked  L . Naturally when I heard positive reviews about this kit I was tempted to try.
The kit consists of five cutie 13g tubes, which are:
1)      De-Pigmentation Face wash (which comes free with the pack)
2)      Cleansing Cream
3)      Exfoliating Scrub
4)      Anti Blemish Cream
5)      De-Pigmentation Pack

This is ideal for home facials as the entire process takes less than half an hour and the results are also instant.
Steps to be followed:
My take on the facial kit:
Well, I’m in love with this. I just love to look at my face every time I finish my facial. My skin looks fresh, soft and radiant and the good thing is that the results (radiance and softness) do last for me for more than four days. For the blemishes, they fade atleast upto 10% every time. Don’t you think that is enough??? I do the facial every week and there is always improvement in my skin in terms of blemishes.
De-Pigmentation Face wash: This is a mild yet effective face wash. It leaves skin really clean without feeling dry.
Cleansing Cream:  After washing my face I put a little amount of it on a cotton ball and cleanse all my face and neck with it and wipe off.
Exfoliating Scrub:  This is the mildest scrub I know. I just love it. It contains dried papaya granules which scrub the skin gently and effectively.
Anti Blemish Cream: I use a massager with this cream and it is pretty decent. I find my face already glowing after this massage session..
De-Pigmentation Pack: This is a creamy pack which dries off really quick.
Swatches:

PROS:
·         Lives upto it’s claims and really clears up blemishes.
·         Cheap.
·         This mini kit lasts for more than five facials.
·         Made from Papaya extracts which are proven to do magic for skin.
·         Comes in tubes. Hygienic.

CONS:
·         None.

My rating:  5/5

Do I recommend? : Definitely.
